Two centers of excellence to encourage cross-pollination and bold product innovation

The creation of two centers of excellence (COE) will facilitate the transfer of mutual knowledge and the leveraging of complementary core competencies across the broad spectrum of products. The Citrus COE will be based at the MCI headquarters in Kirchgandern, Germany, while all non-citrus competencies will be provided by Cedarome’s headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

Innovation and significant investments in product development and research

The transfer of advanced citrus manufacturing technologies, including molecular distillation, chromatography and C02 high pressure extraction applied to non-citrus ingredients, will result in new and innovative products. We aim to facilitate our joint customers in meeting the challenges of the ever-changing complex regulatory environment, and to excite and inspire the creation of successful new products into the marketplace.

Combining our strengths to better face the future of global trade

Expanding our manufacturing facilities on two continents will exponentially increase our flexibility, while reducing our carbon footprint. The commitment of manufacturing redundancies in both North America and Europe will serve to protect all supply chains from the uncertainties that inevitably arise in a global economy.

Following the March 14th 2019 certification audits, the Pro-Cert organization authorized the COR certification – Organic Canada Regime. This project, which is a continuation of the SQF certification, was led by the Quality Assurance and Compliance Director Audrey Brown, MSc. Supported by management, a team consisting of Rose-Mary Daniele, BSc (Quality assurance technician) and Anne Desjardins, LL.B. (Legal consultant, special projects) worked diligently and with impeccable rigor to prepare.

This certification is in keeping with Cedarome’s commitment to continuous improvement and allows us to serve new markets in accordance to the highest industry standards. And it doesn’t stop there: other projects are under way to continue to offer our customers the ultimate in quality and service, all industries combined.

Following certification audits on September 17th and 18th 2018, which included verification of the practices and procedures in place, Cedarome successfully achieved a final score of 96%. This impressive result would not have been possible without the dedication, perseverance and discipline of the HACCP team led effectively by Audrey Brown, Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance. Supported by the management team, this immense project, which began from scratch and took two years to complete, was achieved through the efforts of the HACCP team comprised of Brigitte Vachon (Quality Control Manager), Rose-Mary Daniele (Quality Assurance Technician), Carl Gray (Installations Manager), Mario Ménard (Director of Production) and Jean-Marc Hurteau (Assistant Director of Production), and of course, a special thanks to Cedarome’s hardworking staff.

 

In addition to maintaining our certifications, respecting the established system and continuous improvement, other objectives are in the team’s sights including to continue to expand Cedarome’s specialized certifications in order to offer our customers the ultimate in quality and service, all industries combined.

The logo illustrates each of the 4 products categories with an icon. On the website, the 4 components of the logo have been separated to allow the viewer to easily find the information on each of the product lines. More specifically, the flower icon leads to Essential oils, the transversal cut half-lemon icon to Citrus, the leaf icon to Canadian Naturals, and the round-bottom flask with three molecules icon to Natural Isolates.

Many videos will be shot and added during the year, both on the website and on social media. You will be able to see news, subscribe to our newsletter, and have access to our catalogue of different products online.

To reinforce the importance of Nature and Purity, a design focusing on refined contemporary elegance and audacity was created with respect to the following style guidelines:

• COLOUR: Lime green is an amalgamation of green representing Nature, and the “nature business” we are in and yellow for citrus, one of our main product lines. The logo is always presented on white to reinforce the importance of purity.
• FORM: An outer C for Cedarome, containing 4 drops inscribed in a clover, symbol of luck. The number of drops contained within the clover representing the number of product lines we have.
• ICONOGRAPHY:  An icon for each product line: A Flower for Essential Oils, A Lemon for Citrus; A Leaf for Canadian Naturals, and a round-bottom Flask for Natural Isolates.
• TYPOGRAPHY: Contemporary elegance is represented with fine-lined, lower-case letters, of which the rounded shapes are reminiscent of molecules. The m in Cedarome is lengthened to evoke the appreciation of aroma as in ‘’mmm’’.

To conclude the identity revamp, the slogan was revisited to better express our essence: ‘’Nature Serving the Senses’’. Now that the new identity is born, you will see it on our new website, documentation, signage and social media!
